Life's unpredictable.

Don't you just agree with my title?
Maybe you will later.

Anyway, I'm back from Malaysia. (Obvious isn't it? Hmm.)
Chinese New Year was great, just that i felt that we didn't stay at my maternal side long enough. It's always the case every year. :(
Ang bao lui decreased, probably due to the recession!
But parents' ang baos didn't! :D

Okay okay, pictures!!

Saturday

Arrived at my hometown and headed to my 大伯's shop for dinner.
He's a great chef yo!
Every year he cooks the nicest food for the family! :)

Yum yum! La la! (that's how its pronounced)
Sunday
Chinese New Year's Eve!
Reunion dinner at my 大伯's place this time round.
I like the feeling of a big family gathering together for dinner and then catching up with one another. :)
very obedient dog!

steamboat steamboat!

Headed home.
We had the traditional custom of offering prayers to the god and also my 阿公.

my 堂妹.

Monday
大年初一!
Woke up early to get ready for relatives to gather at Ah Ma's house!

cutie #1!

Went to someone's ( i ain't sure how am i related to them) house.

Gave me a shock when i saw this dog.

It doesn't look big in the picture but in real life it's fuckin big!
Like an adult tiger's size!

There's another very fierce dog kept enclosed at the back of the house, but i don't dare to go cos i heard it's damn fuckin fierce. :D
Buffet dinner at 大伯's place again!
But Msia banned the usage of fire crackers and even the long long 炮竹.
In addition, it has become a law that we have to fasten our seat belts for the rear seats there. But, i guess no one will really care. :P

Went to 二姑's house!
It's damn fuckin big. I forgot to take photos though.
I like to hang out in their karaoke room!
Can sing can eat can drink can chill.

And just look at the amount of alcohol they have.

Gambling! (abit blur i know.)

Tuesday
大年初二!
Arrived at my maternal's side around noon. Then all my relatives came to 外婆家!
Eat, gamble, chit-chat.
Then went to my 小姨家 at night for more gambling and chilling session!
cutie #2
He said his chest pocket too small for the angbao!
So cute! Hahaha.
cutie #3
Haha he's cute but abit too violent for his age.

trying to break the coconut with his bare hand!?
The 'kitchen' of a wooden house beside my 外婆家!

Very kampung feeling right?
Big contrast to the picture above?
I always pass by this mansion/house/chalet/whatever-you-name-it on the journey to my 外婆家.
We got stuck on the bridge connecting M'sia and Singapore for 1 & 1/2 hour today. It's one of the worst traffic jam i ever encountered. Even after getting our passports checked, another half an hour was spent inside the customs due to the traffic. -.-
Okay, the reason why i said life's unpredictable.
Here's the story...
There's this very cute little kitten near my 外婆家.
It's still very young and doesn't know how to survive yet. I don't know where it came from and where its parents are.
It kept meow-ing when we were having lunch. It seemed hungry so i decided to let it have some food.

It's so fuckin small that i can easily use a hand to carry it.
It's very friendly too. Not afraid of strangers at all.
I carried it away from a dog because it seemed pretty scared.
See how cute it is?

Okay, the point is, it was below my 小舅's car when they were about to leave my 外婆家. (at this point of time, i was at my Aunt's house already) He started the car engine and didn't know the cat was there. By right, the cat should have run away when it heard the engine.

But it didn't, and the car just ran over the cat . . .

It was only when a neighbour saw the cat and told my 小舅 when he realised.

The kitten didn't survive for long and passed away soon after.

When he told me the news, i was totally taken aback.
Even though it's just a few hours i was playing with the kitten, it's hard to accept the fact that someone or an animal that you've been interacting with awhile ago just died like that, isn't it?

I was still thinking if it would still be there the next year i return.

I felt rather emotional for awhile and remained speechless.

So, don't you agree that life's unpredictable?

I'm sorry to have ended this post on a sad note but i felt that i really have to blog about this.
What a long post, hope i didn't bore you with all this!

Enjoy your Chinese New Year people! Still have 11 days to 拜年! :)
